As the UK's largest store-based parcel delivery brand, Collect (Collect Plus) is no stranger to innovation, always working towards more convenient and customer-centric sending.
Founded in 2009, Collect was created as a joint venture between Yodel and PayPoint. Four years after this clever convergence, Collect had a parcel presence in over 5,500 stores across the country. Their partnerships with large retailers like John Lewis, House of Fraser and Marks & Spencer has allowed them the advantage of unrivalled coverage in both geographic terms and opening hours.
In 2017 reaching the landmark 100 millionth parcel, Collect is coming on leaps and bounds, connecting customers with a drop and collect service that suits them. Today their services offer users a sustainable means to send whilst reducing our CO2 contributions and facilitates a way to keep shipping while socially distancing.
How does Collect work?
When booking a Collect delivery service through Interparcel, you benefit from the most competitive prices there are. With over 7,000 locations throughout the UK, their click and collect service allows customers to drop off parcels at a time and place that best suits them.
So, if you're wondering how this all works let's go through it quickly:
- Enter your recipient's address and parcel details into our Quote Tool
- Enter your postcode to find the nearest Drop Off store location
- Fill in the rest of the details e.g. return address, parcel contents and check the delivery address
- Pay, print your labels, and your parcel is ready to be dropped off!
Transit times will begin once you have dropped your parcel off at your local Collect location and the friendly courier has collected it. Please note this may not be the same day if you drop the parcel off later in the day after the driver has already collected.
Collect Economy and Standard can carry packages weighing up to 10kg with maximum dimensions of 60cm x 50cm x 50cm.
Convenience and comfort with Collect
With more than 24,000 customers collecting parcels from Collect locations every day, they're doing something right! As online shopping continues to soar over high street footfall, the need for convenient delivery locations is important.
And as our UK workforce continues to adapt to new measures brought about by the pandemic, often staying in for a collection is not possible or convenient. That's why 70.5% of online shoppers prefer to use their nearest Collect drop-off location that can kill two birds with one stone - getting the essentials and sending parcels.
Collect have been working hard to ensure store locations are well within customers' reach. With over 9.3 million people now living within 300 metres of a Collect drop off point, parcel delivery has never been simpler.
And they're constantly improving - by listening to their customers they are working to replace over 500 Collect stores and reinstitute them in more convenient locations. Holding parcel points in shopping centres, convenience stores, forecourt retail and university campuses, sending with Collect saves customers time.
Targeting the most visited places and spaces where customers get their essentials, Collect has proved invaluable in recent months - working with customers to reduce the frequency of trips out and ensuring safe deliveries.
Sustainable aims for satisfied customers
Every year Collect fulfils 20 million deliveries via their store locations. As their drivers visit these locations each day rather than go to and from private addresses they effectively reduce carbon emissions. With over 84% of reviews rated 5 stars, customers are certainly getting behind Collect delivery and their forward-thinking parcel delivery.
43% of shoppers state they prefer retailers that offer sustainable delivery options! So the likes of DPD Local and Collect are blazing the trail for other couriers to cut down on CO2 contributions and start delivering sustainably.
Having set out to increase 'right-first-time' deliveries, their collection model provides a great logistical advantage. Using manned Collect stores ensures someone is always there to take in parcels, reducing failed deliveries and wasted mileage.
Additionally, Collect has connected with projects like Cross River Partnership to campaign and encourage senders to priorities collection points to improve inner-city air quality and road congestion!
