Pallet delivery

Pallet delivery is a freight service for goods secured to a pallet base. It is useful for multiple boxes travelling to one address, heavy or bulky items, business stock and consignments that are not suitable for a standard parcel courier.

Use a pallet when the shipment is too heavy, bulky, unstable or made up of multiple boxes that are easier to move as one secured load. If you only have one boxed item, compare parcel and large-and-heavy courier options as well because they may be more cost-effective.

The standard Interparcel pallet selector offers five sizes on a 1m by 1.2m footprint: Mini Quarter up to 0.6m high and 150kg, Quarter up to 0.8m high and 300kg, Half up to 1.1m high and 500kg, Light up to 2.2m high and 750kg, and Full up to 2.2m high and 1000kg.

Yes. The Interparcel pallet quote tool includes a Custom Pallet option so you can enter the actual weight, length, width and height when one of the five standard pallet sizes does not match your shipment.

The price depends on the pallet size and weight, collection and delivery postcodes, service speed and any access requirements. Interparcel compares compatible pallet courier services so you can choose the option that fits your budget and delivery timescale.

Current pallet delivery options through Interparcel include services from Haulable, Palletforce and Palletways. Available Economy, Premium and timed services depend on the pallet details and route entered.

Yes. Selected Premium and timed pallet services offer delivery on the next working day or in around one to two working days. Availability depends on the courier, collection arrangements, postcodes and booking time.

No. The sender must provide a suitable pallet base and have the goods securely prepared before collection. The load must be stable and suitable for safe handling by the pallet network.

Use a sound pallet, distribute the weight evenly, place heavier items at the bottom, strap the load where appropriate and shrink-wrap the complete consignment securely. Protect corners and make sure nothing can move, fall or protrude during handling.

Goods should fit safely within the pallet footprint and should not overhang or protrude. Overhanging goods are more vulnerable to damage, can be unsafe to handle and may lead to a refused collection or additional charges.

Pallet services use larger vehicles, which can be up to 18 tonnes. The collection and delivery points should have suitable hard, level access for the vehicle and pallet handling equipment. Tell Interparcel about access restrictions before booking so the courier can be informed.

Residential pallet collection can be available where the selected service covers the address and there is suitable vehicle and pallet handling access. Enter the correct address type and disclose any access restrictions when booking.

Yes. The pallet quote process allows you to add multiple pallets. Enter the correct pallet type and quantity for each part of the consignment so the courier can allocate enough vehicle space.

Yes. Pallet services booked through Interparcel include online tracking. Tracking normally begins after the pallet has been collected and scanned into the courier network.

Interparcel pallet delivery services currently include £25 of transit cover. Enhanced Transit Cover may be available for eligible goods if you want additional protection when booking.
