No one likes to receive an unexpected surcharge, this is why it is so important to be accurate when weighing and measuring your parcel. If correct details are entered at the time of booking you shouldn’t receive any unexpected charges as this is already calculated into the price. It is also important to look at your packaging as this can sometimes incur extra charges.
These surcharges can occur because of the following reasons
Dimensions - Minimum of £31 per parcel
Packaging - Minimum of £21 per parcel
Weight - Minimum of £15 per parcel
Minimum of £7.50 per shipment
If your customers address is incorrect and needs to be changed this may incur a surcharge to be amended
Minimum of £49.25 per parcel
An oversize charge applies to a shipment containing packages that exceed 243 centimetres in length or 330 centimetres in length and girth (L+2W+2H). Package shape and dimensions may change during transit, which can affect the package’s surcharge eligibility. If the dimensions change during transit, FedEx may make appropriate adjustments to the shipment charges at any time.
If you are shipping rolled up items or long thin items, please do not use a cylinder tube. Instead use triangular or rectangular tubes. Tubes can easily roll off conveyor belts and may also incur additional handling charges.
Please also avoid using excessive tape when securing your parcel as this may need to be manually handled and incur additional handling charges.
** With surcharges there may also be a fuel surcharge added to this. If you have entered your parcel details correctly, fuel is already calculated in. The fuel surcharge can change weekly. **
Please note that the surcharges listed above are subject to change, and are correct at the time of publication. Charges could be levied in addtion that are not listed above.
