We’re excited to announce the launch of our new Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) solution, available worldwide, including the United States. This upgrade gives customers a smoother, more predictable way to ship overseas, with every duty and customs charge handled upfront for total cost certainty. It's simple, secure and fully guaranteed.
What is Interparcel DDP?
Our DDP solution, which can be added at checkout, means the sender pays all duties, taxes, and customs fees before the parcel even leaves the country. Everything is taken care of in advance, so there are no unexpected charges on arrival, or once the shipment is delivered for the sender. No surprise bills for either party, and no hold ups at the door.
The Interparcel DDP Guarantee
When you choose the DDP solution through Interparcel, the price you see is the final price you pay. Thanks to our established partnerships with leading couriers, our DDP rates benefit from exclusive discounts. That keeps costs down while giving you full protection against additional fees later on.
Why Choose DDP?
No unexpected costs
All duties and customs charges are paid by the sender in advance, so there are no further fees for the sender or receiver to cover in the future.
Faster customs clearance
Parcels typically move through customs more quickly because everything is prepaid, leading to a smoother delivery process.
A better delivery experience
Shipments arrive at the recipient’s door without delays or payment requests due to customs, making the process smooth for both senders and receivers.
More peace of mind
With charges sorted in advance, both sender and receiver know exactly what to expect, keeping international shipping simple and predictable.
Making Global Shipping Easier
Our DDP solution is designed to give businesses and individuals a more reliable way to send parcels abroad. It removes uncertainty, improves the shipping experience, and helps your parcels reach their destinations without disruption.
How do I add DDP to my order?
Step 1: Generate Your Quote
Start by getting a quote for your parcel delivery. Enter the full international destination postcode and make sure the parcel’s weight and dimensions are accurate.
(Remember: The Interparcel DDP Guarantee applies only when all items are declared correctly.)
Step 2: Choose a Service
Browse the available services and pick the one you’d like to book.
Services that support DDP will display “Prepay Duty & Taxes” underneath the service name.
At the moment, this option is available on FedEx international services only, but more couriers will be added soon.
Step 3: Enter Address & Collection Details
Add your Collection Address and Delivery Address, then choose your Collection Date and Time if the service requires it.
Step 4: Complete the Contents & Customs Information
Provide accurate details for your parcel contents, including the exact value and the reason for export.
After entering your item description, select “Find HS Code”, choose the matching code from the list, and then select the country of manufacture.
Step 5: Select the DDP Option
You’ll be asked how you’d like to handle taxes and import duties.
To use DDP, choose “I will pay now for any taxes and duties.”
The applicable charge will then appear, based on your declared value, commodity code, and item details. This total also includes our £4.00 admin fee.
For a full breakdown, click “Show details.”
Step 6: Finalise Your Booking
Continue to checkout, complete payment, and your order is ready to go.
What services can I use DDP on?
You can currently use our DDP solution on all international FedEx services booked through Interparcel. This provides a reliable and predictable way to ship worldwide while keeping costs fully covered upfront. We’ll be expanding our courier selection soon, so keep an eye out for further announcements as we continue to grow the range of services supported by DDP.
If you’re ready to ship internationally with complete confidence, the Interparcel DDP solution is now available to use at checkout.
