Additional Handling

This charge may apply to an item enclosed in an outer shipping container made from metal or wood, or a cylindrical item such as a barrel, drum, pail or tyre that is not fully enclosed in a corrugated cardboard container. It may also apply when the longest side exceeds 100cm, the second-longest side exceeds 76cm, a domestic or export parcel weighs more than 25kg, or an import parcel weighs more than 32kg. |

A fuel surcharge may also be applied to additional charges. Fuel is

Suitable packaging can help your parcel move through UPS's automated network without requiring additional manual handling.

Use Secure, Stable Packaging
Avoid excessive tape and fill empty space so the contents cannot move. A parcel with unfilled space may become unstable or top-heavy and could require additional handling.
Customs and import-charge information
When placing an international order, complete all customs information accurately during the booking process.
If you include your own commercial invoice, the contents, descriptions, declared values and shipping costs must exactly match the information entered on the Interparcel website. Any discrepancies could result in delays or additional charges from customs authorities.
If customs charges are billed to Interparcel, the original parcel sender will be responsible for paying them.

For a package travelling to the USA, UPS may charge an additional $12 International Collect On Delivery fee if import charges have not been paid before delivery. This fee does not apply when duties are paid in advance.
