No one likes to receive an unexpected surcharge, this is why it is so important to be accurate when weighing and measuring your parcel. If correct details are entered at the time of booking you shouldn’t receive any unexpected charges as this is already calculated into the price. It is also important to look at your packaging as this can sometimes incur extra charges.
If the length plus girth of your parcel exceeds 300cm but does not exceed 400cm, a minimum surcharge of £52.36 will be applied.
If you have entered your dimensions correctly when booking and they exceed 300cm in girth, don't worry as the charge is already calculated into your price
How to work out length plus girth – L + (2xW) + (2xH) so if your parcel dimensions are 60 x 30 x 20 this would calculate as 60 + (2x30) + (2x20) = 160
This surcharge can occur because of the following
If any of the above occur there will be a minimum surcharge of £422.40
You will also receive a Large Package Surcharge of a minimum of £52.36
This surcharge can occur because of the following and will incur a minimum charge of £11.17 per parcel.
(Typically September - January) there may also be a peak surcharge added to the above mentioned surcharges. If you have entered everything correctly during the booking process this is already calculated into the price.
UPS will sometimes add a surcharge for going to certain countries. This is calculated into the price you already see and can change anytime. These are usually charged at a kilo rate. If you under declare a parcel you may also incur extra charged for the demand surcharge.
*With surcharges there may also be a fuel surcharge added to this. If you have entered you parcel details in correctly fuel is already calculated in. The fuel surcharge can change weekly*
If you are shipping rolled up items or long thin items, please do not use a cylinder tube. Instead use triangular or rectangular tubes. Tubes can easily roll off conveyor belts and may also incur additional handling charges. Please also avoid using excessive tape when securing your parcel as this may need to be manually handled and incur additional handling charges.
If a shipment has been packaged with voids in the parcel and there is room for the items inside to move around, this could incur additional charges if the parcel is top heavy and falls off the conveyor
