Parcelforce Surcharges

No one likes to receive an unexpected surcharge, this is why it is so important to be accurate when weighing and measuring your parcel. If correct details are entered at the time of booking you shouldn’t receive any unexpected charges as this is already calculated into the price. It is also important to look at your packaging as this can sometimes incur extra charges

Nothing To Collect

If you are not in and miss the collection driver there will be a minimum charge of £7.50. We need to be notified the day before a collection is due if you wish to cancel.

Return To Sender

UK services - Minimum of £6.75 per parcel, International services - Minimum of £20 per parcel.

Parcelforce Express 48 Large

If your item is larger/heavier than the maximum for this service then there is a minimum charge of £100 surcharge.

The maximum weight is 30kg and maximum length is 240cm.

The maximum length plus girth is 400cm

How to work out length plus girth – L + (2xW) + (2xH) so if your parcel dimensions are 60 x 30 x 20 this would calculate as 60 + (2x30) + (2x20) = 160

Other Services

If your item is larger or heavier than the maximum for the specific service there is a minimum £60 surcharge.

The maximum weight is 30kg

Maximum length – 140cm

The maximum length plus girth is 270cm

Manual Handling Surcharge

Items between 110cm and 150cm or where the 2nd largest dimension is greater than 70cm will incur a minimum surcharge of £7.95.

Please note, some smaller items (up to 110cm length or where the 2nd largest dimension is 70cm or below) will need to be processed manually and will attract a manual handling surcharge of £3.15 per item.

Packaging

There will be a manual handling charge starting at £3.15 for items that cannot be processed due to packaging, this can include but not limited to - Cylinders, irregular shapes, bags, sacks, buckets, Tyres, liquids that have uneven weight distribution, very thin items, under 3cm thick, excessive tape used.

If you are shipping rolled up items or long thin items, please do not use a cylinder tube. Instead use triangular or rectangular tubes. Tubes can easily roll off conveyor belts and may also incur additional handling charges. Please also avoid using excessive tape when securing your parcel as this may need to be manually handled and incur additional handling charges.

If the parcel is encased or covered in shrink wrap, or stretch wrap, this can incur additional handling charges

If a shipment has been packaged with voids in the parcel and there is room for the items inside to move around, this could incur additional charges if the parcel is top heavy and falls off the conveyor

The use of cable ties on the external packaging could result in surcharges being levied.

** With surcharges there may also be a fuel surcharge added to this. If you have entered your parcel details correctly, fuel has already been calculated. The fuel surcharge can change weekly. **
